About Ewen Ponds

The entry point is the unsteady looking old platform. The 10m deep first pool is so clear if you do it as a night dive you can lie on the bottom and look at the stars. The reason for this clarity is a fountain gushing water from the bottom. The watercress on either side is protected ' There's a tunnel joining the pond with the next one and you'll enter a 5km per hour drift to the second and third pools. The survival of the area and its biodiversity as subject to how well you treat it - be aware when you dive there. The rest can be snorkeled for quite a way if you plan for the 90 min walk back with enough foresight'
